SecureLogix Cororation's patent is their 12th in the US and its 13th worldwide. The patent protects the company's core technology, secifically, their Virtual Private Switched Telecommunications Network, which can encrypt voice, fax, modem and video calls across the traditional public telephone network. "Over the last 10 years, SecureLogix has been developing innovative solutions to secure voice networks from attack and abuse, and to simplify usage reporting and network management," SecureLogix President Lee Sutterfield says, the company bills itself as a communications intelligence firm that secures telecom network resources from attack and abuse. Chief Technology Officer Mark Collier says the company filed its first telecom firewall patent request in 1998 and its first telecom Virtual Private Network patent request in 2000.
