Busines Journal writer Scott Bailey reported that the Guadalupe Medical Center plans to nearly double its size as San Antonio continues to expand. Scott noted that the spillover is increasingly affecting some of the city's closest neighbors in all directions. Boerne and Helotes are being affected to the north and west. Seguin is experiencing record growth to the east and Floresville and Pleasanton are growing rapidly to the south. The Guadalupe Medical Center's expansion will be one of the most ambitious expansion projects to be undertaken in the San Antonio area in recent years. The project will cost approximately $100 million and will be completed in 2010 and will include a three story in patient hospital facility and a new multi-story outpatieit facility.
